CoD Mobile Season 8: Honkai Impact 3rd Invades and My Wallet Surrenders

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8: Against All Fate brings a Honkai Impact 3rd collab, a roguelike mode, and a free Mythic weapon.

I have played a lot of Call of Duty: Mobile. I have grinded Battle Passes, I have lost Ranked matches to players who apparently have four thumbs, and I have told myself "just one more Draw" more times than I care to admit. But Season 8 — Against All Fate — is the first season that made me genuinely worried about my bank account, my sleep schedule, and my dignity. Because this time, HoYoverse showed up.

Season 8 — Against All Fate launched on September 9 at 5PM PT, and it brings a full collaboration with Honkai Impact 3rd, the free-to-play sci-fi adventure that paved the way for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. So yes, the crossover event of the decade just dropped into my mobile shooter, and I am not emotionally prepared.

The New Mode Is Basically a Roguelike Fever Dream

Let me be blunt: I did not expect a top-down roguelike shooter in my Call of Duty. But here we are, and honestly? It rules.

Up to three players team up to fight waves of monsters until they hit a final boss. You pick from three maps with different difficulties, earn XP, hunt down Elite Chests, and stack upgrades like Weapon Traits, Stigmata, and Chips. Every run is different because the drops and upgrade paths are random — which means my build is different every time, and my strategy is "panic and shoot" every time.

Knocked-out players can be revived by teammates, so stick together and drag your fallen friends back into the fight. Feeling brave? Endless mode throws increasingly brutal waves at you until you inevitably become a cautionary tale. There are also secret levels and hidden enemies, because of course there are.

Battle Royale Gets a Portal and I Got Lost

Over in Isolated, there's a limited-time Quantum Platform POI, and it is chaos in the best way. Teams first need to find and complete a new contract, which is announced match-wide for everyone to see — because nothing says "stealth" like the entire lobby knowing exactly where you are.

Complete the contract, get directions to a teleporter, then defend it while it charges. Squads who survive that nonsense portal onto the Quantum Platform, where Honkai-inspired enemies and high-quality loot await. Grab what you can, sprint back to the teleporter, and return to the main map to keep fighting. I died twice doing this. Worth it.

Free Mythic Weapon? Yes, Actually Free

This is the part where I stopped breathing. For the first time ever in Call of Duty: Mobile, you can earn a Mythic Weapon for free through the Mythic Free Weapon Event.

Complete weekly missions, and choose your target:

Weapon Mythic Variant
ISO Hemlock Core of Thunder
Static-HV Core of Fire
BAL-27 Core of Reason

You can swap your selection at any time until you claim the final prize. Fair warning: this event runs across multiple seasons and demands serious dedication — think several weeks of grinding and some genuinely hard challenges. It's free, but it is not cheap.

The Battle Pass and Challenge Pass Stuff

The Against All Fate Battle Pass is stacked. Free tiers hand you the ISO Hemlock, a mid-range Assault Rifle that pairs high damage with low recoil — basically a polite murder machine. Premium gets you Operator Skins like Keegan — Field Medic, Manta Ray — Mech Framewright, Cipher — Mech Pilot, and Corso — Plated Rogue, plus Blueprints including Striker — Chibi Chassis and SP-R 208 — Reclamation.

The Season 8 Challenge Pass is where the new Static-HV SMG lives — a 50-round, high-fire-rate monster that I fully intend to abuse in Ranked. Earn Tokens, hit the Exchange, grab rewards like VMP — Stellar Radiance and the Chibi Commando Charm.

Three Mythic Weapons. One Armory. Zero Self-Control.

The Honkai Mythic Weapons Series Armory is a first for the franchise: three Mythic Weapons in a single offering — ISO Hemlock — Core of Thunder, Static-HV — Core of Fire, and BAL-27 — Core of Reason. Each comes with unique designs, elimination effects, inspections, reload animations, and Mythic upgrade paths.

Then there are the three themed Draws starting 9/11 UTC, built around Fire, Ice, and Thunder:

  • 🔥 Herrscher of Flamescion Siren — with the Nail Gun — Domain of Incandescence

  • ❄️ Kestrel — Herrscher of Reason — with the FHJ — Domain of Revelation

  • ⚡ Rin Yoshida — Herrscher of Thunder — with the Katana — Domain of Sanction

Own all three Operators and you unlock the EMP Systems — Snap Judgement, Gunship — Thunderous Destruction, and Gravity Vortex Gun — Project Bunny skins. My wallet is currently writing its will.

Final Thoughts From a Broken Player

Season 8 also brings a themed event with the Scylla — Rita Rossweisse Operator Skin, the Scythe — Aphrodite Scythe Melee Blueprint, an Arcade event, a new Legendary Secret Cache weapon (Grau 5.56 — Rita's Rose), the Dingo — Diamond Oracle Prestige Weapon, and the return of the Nightmare and Shadow Operatives Battle Pass Vaults.

So yeah. Season 8 is enormous, ridiculous, and absolutely worth your time. Just remember to hydrate, sleep occasionally, and never say "one more Draw." I never listen to that advice either.

See you online. 🎮
